November 30, 2020 OPERA GALA The Grand Hall of St Petersburg Philharmonic (St Petersburg, Russia)
FES Foundation and the Grand Hall of the St Petersburg Philharmonia present a memorable concert of outstanding Russian and Western opera masterpieces on November 30, 2020. Young singers, who have established their names on the world stage, will feature in scenes and arias from operas by Glinka, Rimsky-Korsakov, Borodin, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Verdi, Bizet, Gounod, Delibes, and Massenet.
A little about our rising stars — following her shining debut at the Salzburg Festival in 2017, Evgenia Muravieva has performed with great success at La Scala and the Vienna State Opera. Young Latvian soprano Evelina Smolina, already a laureate of multiple international competitions, made her last-year debut at Carnegie Hall. Arguably one of her generation’s best low voices, mezzo-soprano Olesya Petrova, is an annual guest at the Metropolitan Opera.
Alongside these stunning women the audience will meet excellent lyric tenor Alexey Tatarintsev, soloist of «The Novaya Opera» in Moscow, and lyric baritone Vladislav Sulimsky, soloist of the Mariinsky Theater, whose rising career has seen recent debuts at the Salzburg Festival, Berlin State Opera and Vienna State Opera.
The singers will be accompanied by the Saint Petersburg Academic Symphony Orchestra (formerly, the Leningrad Radio Orchestra) under the baton of Maestro Evgeniy Khokhlov.
